Pet First Aid Kit

ESSENTIAL ITEMS FOR THE PET FIRST AID KIT

When the cat gets cut or the dog is stung by bees, you may not have time for a quick trip to the pharmacy. Instead, take a few minutes now to visit the drugstore and stock up on the right products. Then store them in a container designated for this purpose.
Make sure everyone in the family know's where your Pet's first aid kit is kept, and make sure the container is closed and secure against curious young hands. Also, as with the products in your own medicine cabinet, be sure to replace any medicine before it reaches the expiration date.

The well stocked first aid kit for your Pet should contain:
1)Benadryl for bites and stings. Average dose is 1 milligram per pound of your Pet's weight.
2)Neosporin for Cuts.
3)Cotton balls for cleaning discharge, cuts and the like.
4)Nonstick sterile gauze pads for wounds.
5)Lightweight adhesive tape that won't stick to wounds.
6)Coated buffered aspirin. You'll need 81-milligram tablets, but this will depend on what your Vet recommends for your pet.(Do not give a Pet unbuffered aspirin, acetaminophen, or ibufropen.)
7)Phone number of your Vet.
8)Hydrogen Peroxide.
